When long standing clients (photographic suppliers) Baltronics decided to relocate their 300m2 headquarters in Artarmon to a 2000m2 90 year old warehouse in Sydney's south at Alexandria we jumped at the invitation renovate their new premises.

AFTER BEFORE
Baltronics at this stage joins forces with Pioneer Studios and rename themselves Sun Studios Australia . Together with their creative influences and our construction expertise we set out to create an unique world class photographic facility.
Once completed the premises now boasts
- 7 photographic studios complete with cycoramas
- Equipment rental warehouse
- Shop
- Administration offices
- IT editing facilities
- Cafe with full commercial kitchen
- 300m2 common area 'The Atrium' often used to host functions catering for up to 1000 guests
- External landscaped garden
- Car parking for 60 vehicles
The building began its life in the 1920's as a part of the 'Alexandria Spinning Mills' and until we arrived was full of racing forklifts and packed to the ceiling with pallets The challenge was to transform this aging open space warehouse into a clean livable and inviting work environment. The end result is a perfect example of recycling and building reuse.
- The existing concrete floors were polished and sealed
- Painted brick walls were sand blasted
- Paint was removed from the timber posts and roof trusses
- 7000m2 of plasterboard was used to partition for the various spaces
- Custom steel and glass door frames were fitted to the external walls providing access and light
- Existing roof vents were motorized to provide ventilation and allow sunlight to enter the building
- An overgrown alley away was transformed into a landscaped oases
- A 20000 litre water tank was installed to meet the garden's needs
